<font color=purple> I just stopped at Audio King on the way home from work to buy some 6x9's for my hand made inner rear panels and the kid asked what vehicle I had .......... So I told him a full size Blazer and he said I would have some trouble fitting them in there ..... I told him I didn't think so and he pulled out the catalog to see what fits what and says, " Yup, right here, it will need an install kit. " I told him it wasn't an S-15, which is what he was looking at and he said, " Well, I think you're wrong, that's a full size. " I just let it go and bought the speakers ............ You'd think they'd know their stuff, but they don't. I got a good deal on the 6x9's however ........ 130.00 dollar pair for 58.00 ! Not bad. I just thought I'd share.

What an idiot. You have a custom speaker box (sort of) in a K5 which means it can be as big as you damn well please and he still said they wouldn't fit? That kid should not be working in a stereo store.

Sounds like some of the guys that I used to work with. I was an installer and the other installers were fine...we knew our stuff. Its just that 99% of the sales reps were a bunch of morons. They would call back to the bay once every 5 or 10 minutes with questions that we had already answered about a million times. Pretty frustrating.

I hate audio King... they suck. Seems like everyone I know has had some sort of problem with them... I'd rather buy my speakers at walmart if I had too... Unfortunetly very few have a clue anywhere though... just say give me the speakers pizza face! [IMG]

<font color=purple> The thing that really ticked me off is the fact he was trying to tell me that an S-10 and S-15 were full size ! I could of cared less if he tried to sell me an install kit or not ........ I'll tell them to pack sand all day long ! I can't wait until my K5 gets back on the road so I can drive it up on the j-hole's car and say to him, " Now that's a full size, ya dumb mo facky ! "

Stupid people believe everything they read and if it's in print the owner must be wrong. There is a right way and a wrong way to tell somebody they are wrong. It amaxes me how much wrong information is out on one of the longest running body styles GM ever made. Very little change on the body from 73-91.
AutoZone is my Favorite. Stupid computer list a 10 bolt available in 75. Lots of dumb guestions they ask. Like does it have a 350 when you getting someting totaly unrelated to the engine and the same on EVERY vehicle. Got that why they looked up a turnsignal switch assembly. WHAT DOES THE ENGINE AND 4WD HAVE TO DO WITH TURN SIGNALS?!?!?!? Transmission if it was a stick, Tilt steering but ENGINE?

  12. The kid is probably too young to even know what a K5 Blazer is. Just snatch 'em up by the scruff of the neck, drag him to your truck, and ask if he really thinks you can't fit a 6X9 wherever you want. Then mumble something about the dead body you have stashed in the side panel and leave.

Unfortunetly in today's auto market there is 20 million different options on cars and basically you really can't flat out know them all. Now he might be some ricer that can start babbling Acura engine swaps and programing injector pulse widths into your Apex-i AFC, but knows nothing about trucks. So I'll cut them a little slack, since he works at audio king I still say he's an idiot [IMG]

You do have an point that this asking what engine for a turn signal switch is rediculous. That is really the people's fault that designed the software, but a good parts guy would have the insight to hit whatever and not even ask.

<font color=purple> I agree with ya Mikey ,.......... He can't know them all but when he looked it up in his book and still didn't know it bugged me, especially after I told him that it wasn't an S-15 or S-10 ......... He sworw that an S-15 was a full size and didn't want to listen to the customer who owned the damn thing ! I know not all customers are right either, I'm sure that he here's plenty of people who don't have a clue on what they have but he should have listened to what I was telling him ..... i let it go..... there was no way I was going to make a big deal out of it to him ....... I just wanted my speakers.

I had the same sort of thing happen when I went to get some aftermarket doors (which fit like crap). Told them I had an 89 fullsize Blazer and they pull out a door. When I looked at it, it was for an for an 89 pickup. I explained to them that it was the wrong style and showed them my Blazer sitting outside. They insisted that it wasn't an 89 Blazer and that I didn't know what year my vehicle was! I showed them my registration card and proved them wrong. Needless to say, they apologized and got me the correct doors.

most of those stereo installing types are pretty shady. if they werent stoned all the time they might could do something right but most of thier brains are prety fried. i took my dual battery set up to the place i got my pheonix gold i solator because after i got the second battery installed i realized there were no instructions with the isolator, and the posts werent marked. well they were like "yeah dude we put those in all the time no problem man", well pretty soon they succesfully had everything arc welded together.

would you mind un-wedging your fullsize from between those trees? your blocking the trail.
