Re: dumb yea, but I\'m bored... pic\'s of my engine ready to put back in...

everything on the engine was pretty much cleaned and painited... exceptions; power steering pump, heater core hose, and fuel lines... (obviously tranny)

I had plenty of time to clean and paint everything while I was waiting on parts so I took the liberty to do it. now that I got it together I kinda wish I would have painted the block orange... I left it black & thought it would add a nice contrast, but it doesn't really show engough...) I almost considered doing the valve covers black too.

Now wasn't that fun putting it togather, it makes you love your truck even more knowing that you put the motor togather.

Re: dumb yea, but I\'m bored... pic\'s of my engine ready to put back in...

oh yea, actually I've had a ball putting it together... I am really glad (as long as it runs, got it bolted to the engine mounts today, and that is where it ended) I ended up doing this myself. it wasn't nearly as difficult as I thought it would be...

I've had a lot of fun, and the only part I was really worried about was getting the thing back in and bolted to the engine mounts. I would have tried this myself if it didn't have the tranny attatched, but I had a buddy come over. he helped me get it bolted down to the engine mounts, and there is sits.

man I am gonna have to get this all finished up tomorrow. get the y made up for my exhaust friday morning (or afternoon if I can't make it in the morning).

I ended up capping the EGR thing we were talking about... I am going to end up sending the pipe & kit back. I would have offered them to you for a good price, but I read you had ordered them from pace... EGR valve is installed, but that pipe thing isn't connected in because I have not emmisions here, and I'm assuming this has something to do with air injection or who know's what...

Looks like it is nearly ready to put your rig in motion. Be prepared that you might have some fine tuning of course unless you have cranked it already. Never get frustrated, get busy. I know you are very proud to be at the point of installation!! If you need any more help, let me know and I'll do what I can for ya.

I'll get ya a pic of it between the rails as soon as I finish getting all the crap together... (and it runs)

already got the pretty engine a little dirty. I forgot (remember as soon as we started putting this engine in) to degrease the engine compartment... it isn't real bad, but it is definately a little dirtier then the engine.

as soon as it is all together and running I'll got get it prof. degreased / cleaned. (too much painting and work not to have it clean)

LOL... well actually that isn't my garage, but it is going to get a good cleaning anyway... it is my fathers shop for his tractors etc. (I can't even drive my k5's into my garage - an old 1 car garage)

after I get this done, and before I start on Insane Ewok that shop will get a complete cleaning.
