    I got insanely bored today, so I decided to play with the tow rig some. That new Duramax is something else...

    Take a look at this one, notice the how the body-lines are still lined-up Picture number 3
    The frames on these things are built, far stiffer than any of the others.
    Hydro-formed front section, C-channeld in the middle and U-channeld in the rear. The H/D frames are also 2/3" taller than the light-dutys, which is what gives it the "body-lifted" look.
    Some of the cross members are also hydro-formed tubeing that is welded in-place. Tubed cross members is a faily common practice used today, that greatly increases chassis stiffness and might be helpfull to us (as K-5ers) to incoperate into our rigs.

    My Uncle has two of them - (02 dual, and 02 3/4 ton) they have had more than their share of problems. I hope Chevy has the bugs worked out.

    They are impressive trucks tho.

    Yeah this one is an '01 and we had to replace the right front shock...it busted somehow. Don't ask me how though /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif
