    Border Question

Does anyone have experience crossing the border with used vehicles or parts? What can I expect as far as duty charges? I'm looking at bring back a tranny/TC combo.

    depends.

as a bace line expect to pay GST on the value of the parts.

but if you spend time in the states first you can bring back some stuff tax free.

i often go down to detroit to visit with the wifes aunt for the weekend, and bright back stuff i bought on line and shipped there to save on cost and a few bottles of crown, and have never paid dutie.

I got this that and some used truck rims (recentered hummer locks)

truck rims? what are they worth?

oh you can get them for 50 bucks.

    ok have a nice night.

another idea is to go on a REALLY busy weekend, they down want to be bothered to look at your tranny.

next week i am dragging back my new suburban , also going to pick up my 6.2 tourbo diesel for it :saweet:

That's great. Thanks that's what I figured too. I guess if I have a receipt for a low value (used parts) I'll be fine even if they DO decide to nail me. Cool.
