I am in need of the e-brake cables that will allow me to run my 14 bolt in my 87 K5. I would use my 10b cables, but I don't think they work. I have the 13"x2.5" drums out back. Let me know whatcha got!

i think you need either 81-up or 85-up cables from 14 bolt to make that work, but if not then i have 77 ones probably

Close. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif The correct year split is '83. '82 and older have the same length cables while '83 and newer have a longer cable running from the passenger side to the driver side. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

I've got a complete set of take-offs of drum brakes, backing plates, hardware and new shoes from a 1.25 ton M1008 ready to bolt on and accept new brake cables that will work exactly for your year. $100 for both sets. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

    Using a '75 C14 in my 88K5, I was able to reuse the side-pull (not center-pull) e-brake cables in my K5 w/ the C14.

You have to modify how the cable goes into the backing plate for the angle and then squeeze the clip that retains the cable end closed a bit more since the 1/2T cable end is smaller.

Took me a couple of hours to figure it out, but it's worked great the last 3 years. I can't stand not having an e-brake.

    Or you can spend $$$. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif /forums/images/graemlins/k5.gif
