Seeing how the EJS is right around the corner I figured you guys might get a kick out of these. These are from the Grand Junction (Colorado) Daily Sentinel April 9, 1978.

    Thanks Jason! That's freakin awesome.
So now I see the truth, The Redrockers stold a Chevy thing and decided to call it their own!
BS! Now I won't feel like I'm stepping into a jeep meca anymore,
I'm saving that stuff for sure!
As for EJS this year :( , it is going to be the 1st time I'm going to miss it in years.
I need to go to FL. because I'm having a boat lift installed and it's a must.
It's gonna suck to miss it.
You guys have fun and show the real reason for it, Wheelin & Chevy power!!! :waytogo:

Bo (INTERCEPTOR) is going and I am 95%. Any plans on what you want to run? You know you have to sign up for trails right?

I hadn't really thought about the lack of heeps but I do like the variety of vehicles in the shots. It's also fun how tame they all are by today's standards.

I particularly like the last, black and white shot.

Why do you say you have to sign up? Has something changed?
I have never signed up for a trail yet. I just go for the fun, wheeling and sometimes Sun.
Don't tell me, now they won't let you run any trails without a sign up  .

    Sorry, I'd love too.
Now I'm pissed that they think they can charge $50 for a trail on BLM land.
What the "F" is this world coming too. So, do the Redrockers get kick backs?
Can we reserve all the trails for BB07 and charge everyone $50 to ride on the trails? That's just sad.

Yeah, we just did the trails they weren't on and it was fine.
I don't mind that but if they start charging for all the trails,
my truck will be there really early and just happen to break down right in their "F-in" way.
Rant off- You guys have a good time for me and say hi to all the hot ladies out there.

WTF guys, redrock pays money to the BLM and the BLM will only let so many poeple on trails. Years ago poeple respected this. No one tagged along on safari runs. Poeple pulled to the way side and let the safari pass. No problems. Every year I have gone back poeple have less and less respect for the official runs. I have been on official runs where the trail was blocked by broken rigs and when asked if we could help them move off the trail or if we could lend parts we were told to F off we got it handled.

Not to mention Potatoe salad hill and dump bump. Those places are absolutley insane on Friday and Saturday. So many drunks its not even fun to go there on the weekend.

I totally understand why they want to close the trails to non official runs. I talked to a BLM officer once who was gaurding hells revenge. What I got from him was one of the big reasons for closing some runs is the amount of alcohol use and garbage on the trails that was happening. That year we went into hells revenge and helped clean was must have been 10lbs of broken glass(among other things) out of Mickeys hot tub.

Now I am not saying this is you guys on here, I beleive that most on here are good decent respectful poeple and I would love to wheel with any of you.

Well now that I am off my soapbox.

I am going. Gonna be down there from the 5th to the 10th. I want to do pritchett but towards the later end of my stay. Let me know what trails you guys are doing would love to meet up with some of you

I haven't looked at registration for this year but I don't think its $50 a day. I remember it being ~$75 for either 2 or 3 days. That includes the raffle tickets, which we have done pretty well with (way more than paid for the tickets). They give away over $100,000 in stuff.

I believe that the Red Rocks 4 wheelers only have control over the trails that they have planned on each day. If the safari isn't running a trail on a certain day, its fair game.

All of the proceeds from EJS go to the BLM and keeping the trails open. Nobody from the red rocks 4 wheelers makes or gets compensated for anything.

Yeah, I keep forgetting about the dumb people out there that have no respect for anything or anyone.
That being said, I do understand why they block them. We never had a problem in the past staying out of their way, ahead of them or even help if needed.
Now that they have every Joe Wheeler out there it's a different story.
I never mind paying for something that goes back to the trails, We've just had some run in's with the Redrockers who think they own the trails :surepal: .
I wish I could join you guys, have a blast!
For those that have never gone, it's worth it if you can find a room or camp site.
