I'm selling a truck on ebay for a friend of mine.
It has a reserve on it, but no Buy It Now...

When people ask for the reserve amount, do y'all tell or not?

This is the first truck I've sold, and the first reserve item.

I don't know if it's good or bad but I don't tell the reserve. I also usually let the auction run it's course and don't " buy it now". I like the last moment frenzy.

Just let it run. If they know the reserve, they will all hold just under it so they are not locked in.

I voted to tell the reserve price. I don't really understand the keeping it a secret deal I guess. When I do use ebay which is pretty rare I start the bidding at my absolute bottom dollar and skip the whole reserve deal all together.

Why not just list the lowest bid at the reserve price. I have had multiple bids on Ebay where I have bid on an item past the "hidden" or "secret" reserve and not won because no one else tried to bid higher. i.e. if I bid on an item and the reserve is set at $100 but the bidding starts at $20, someone bids $20 and place my bid say at $120, the newest high bid shows $30. If no one outbids me then my bid never makes it to your reserve.

My opinion which has been formed over some pissed off auction ends. Although I do usually contact the Ebayer and ask him his reserve and see if he will list as a buy it now option after the auction closes so I can get it. Sometimes works sometimes not.

    My $.02

The more you start your auction off at the more it cost...By staring low and using a reserve its cheaper....:deal:
