I'm trying to find out what # edelbrock carb to use on my 84 k5 that needs to pass emmisions. The 1406's say they apply to pre 1980 vehicles. What about later ones? BTW, it has a GM 350 crate in it set up stock. I use it for daily driving and some trails. No real crawlin.

the 1406 has emissions vacuum ports and I believe should work. If nothing else, call Edelbrock or even a local parts place and ask them.

The 1406 is the most common. I've got it on my 84 and it passes Oregon emissions. If you wanted to go high tech you could get the 1904 q-jet which shouldn't have any problems with emissions.

Thanks, I found quite a few 600cfm performers on ebay new for less than 150. I might try one since I don't have to worry about lean angles in this truck. Anyone know if the performer 600 will bolt right to the stock 84 manifold?

For the Edelbrock to fit on your manifold you will need a Adaptor to get it to fit. Your 84 has a spead bore manifold the Edelbrock uses a square bore.
    By the way I have a 1400 or maybe it's a 1406 anyway you should look at a EDL-1826.
