For sale, EDL-1405, Edelbrock Performer 600 CFM Manual choke carb. Worked great on my 350, but decided to go back to the factory Q-Jet. I've got the square to spread bore adapter plate and Holley choke cable that I'll throw in.

    $100 + shipping.

How long ago was it removed from your truck? Why are you switching back to a Q jet if this ones runs good?

It ran well and had a lot of power, but it's more of a power/race type carb I'd say. The throttle response was never very subtle like the Q-jet is. The Q-jet has less acceleration so far, but I can start off nice and smooth, like when the dog is trying to stand up in the back. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Part of this might be that I never figured out how to get the throttle cable lined up just right, I'm not sure.

Bottom line, I guess, is just that the Q-jet is more of a good road manners carb, and the Edelbrock is a performance carb. They both have their place.

I run the 1406 on my street car. Its a well behaved carb. Adjustments are very easy. Its basically a Carter AFB made by Weber.
