I think the K5 is coming back to life in the coming week. Gonna pull the manifodls and whole exhaust and put on headers with a new exhaust. I am not yet sure fi I will rebuild the Holley 600 on there or go back to a QJet(would like to get a jet performance new one). But anyway I Have an Edelbrock Performer manifold just sitting collecting dust in teh grage, would it be worth while to pull the distributor and fuss with that stuff and put the intake on?

I noticed a difference when I put mine on. Plus the performer weighs a lot less than the stock cast iron boat anchor.

On a stock motor, it will make a small difference. I say put it on.

yeah well my motor isn't totally stock but its close enough. I just have a nice little cam and will have headers. I figured the intake would open up the intake side pretty nicely. And I know its way lighter. I went to move it in the shop one day and was prepared for the normal cast pickup(lift with the damn knees). I picked it up with 2 fingers I was so amazed.

Put one on my rebuilt (by PO) 305, and I noticed a lot of difference. I did pull my ac and install a ACCEL Super HEI at the same time, though. Definately flows a bunch better than the cast iron POS.

I put an edelbrock performer intake and a 600 CFM carb on mine. Throttle response is much quicker, the engine runs much smoother(probably a carb issue) and I get better gas mileage (10-11mpg instead of 8-9mpg)
