Does anyone have the edelbrock tubular exhaust on your blazer/jimmy? If so...did you put them on yourself? How was it to install? Can you use the existing Y?

I installed them on my 86 Blazer. It was a piece of cake!!! All you have to do is follow the directions that comes with them. I was amazed as to how easy it was. The TES comes with a new Y and a pipe that will reduce from 3" to 2 1/2" that goes into your cat. I actually went one step further and had an exhaust shop bypass that reducer and make me a true 3" exhaust all the way back. I put in a new high-flow cat and a flowmaster. I almost pissed my pants when I heard it the first time. It sounded AWESOME!!!!! I would hghly recommend them to you.
One more thing, I do remember that I did have to buy one exhaust donut for the flap on the passenger side. Otherthan that the kit was complete. Even comes with shims for your AC bracket.

How much were the headers?? was it worth it, any power/ gas mileage increase?? Just wondering because I was looking to the same headers for my 87 Jimmy 350. Any input will help. Thanks.

I was in the middle of doing a head job on my truck when I decided to put them on. I put them on first and then drove the truck to the exhaust shop with the exhaust open. Talk about loud. I don't exactly remember the price fro them but I believ they were about $325. As far as performance I don't know exactly because I redid the heads, Installed an Edelbrock Performer Intake, Installed the Headers and replaced Plugs, wires and all the vacum hoses. I definetly feel an awesome gain in horsepower and all around UMF but I can't say it's only from the headers. I would say that they did improve my high end power because I can now cruise at a cool 80 to 85 with no problems. I was told that headers do just that. Hope this helps.
