Just went and got one man.

Three of mine are gone and the only one left isn't speaking to most of the family because of stupidity following my maternal grandfather's passing a few years back. It sucks sometimes. When my dad's dad died it was an aneurism (sp?) a few weeks after a successful surgery. No one saw it coming. So many unsaid things and regrets.

Remember the times you had with them and also, although it sounds cheesy, keep some momentos and go through their stuff for things you can use. That sounds like pawing over the dead a bit but you can't know how much my wife appreciates the cheese grader of a woman that's been gone since 1996 or how many fond memories I have of my grandfather every time I use his tools. Their memory lives on every time I see grandma's handwriting on the bottom of our orange juice container.:o
