I've got a 3/4ton '84 Chevy. The engine code from the VIN is M which I found to mean a 350 Heavy Duty (LT9)
Does anyone know what the Heavy Duty means? Is it emissions or 4bolt main or something?

Well, the only 305s made are cast crank 2-bolt mains. Probably something dumb like heavy duty emissions.

Umm, dyslexia? /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif. I really did mix the numbers up, haha. Maybe I just learned something about myself. Yes, it will be a four-bolt main. Don't know about being forged, I doubt it. They got pretty stingy with the forgings as the years went by.
