I looked under the front of the passenger side head, there was not a number there. I need to find out what year engine it is cause I'm changing the motor mounts. Would there be any other places I could find that? The motor has all the SMOG stuff on it, so I'm thinkin '85 or '86? /forums/images/graemlins/k5.gif

It should be there right behind the alternator on a flat spot. It might be covered with paint or grim. there is also a block number behind the Drivers side head that can also give you some clues.

Most the things on my little isuzu are consistant whith bigger gm stuff so this might help. The designation and numbers on my engine are on the driver side just above the motor mounts. Worht a shot right /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

I just asked my dad about that and he said that on his 327 the engine ids were stamped next to the distributor.

Try then behind the drivers side head. Those numbers are not as accurate but can help you get into the ballpark.
