Okay...here is the deal. The block, heads, bottom end, basically long block 454 is from a 1995.
The intake , distributor, thottle body, etc, is all from the 1987 454.

Do I buy plugs for the 1995 or the 1987?
    How about timing...1995 or 1987?

I would think 1995, but I wanna make sure /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Should all of the stuff interchange pretty well? Its non vortec so I would assume they are both pretty much the same.

    Thanks!

The distibutor cap looks a little beat down...I'm gonna get a new cap, is anything else replacable or that I should replace in the distibutor? Its got the coil mounted on the intake, not on top. Everything else inside the cap looks 'permanent'.

    Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks!

The spark plugs you will want to buy for the year of heads you are running. Timing will probably need to be close to the TBI parameters. But have you checked to see if there is even a difference?
