What's the normal operating temp of my 305? And, when swapping in the 350, should I use the same thermostat? Or should I replace it with a new one of the same temp or a new one of a different temp?

    Recommendations?

It should have been 180 from the factory. The TBI trucks came with 195 t-stats. I personally like running a 160 in my '85 with a mild 350. I am in Alabama and don't really need the extra heat. Hope this helps.

'85 K5 : Run it til it breaks, then fix it and go again!
