A few years ago, Nick had a beautiful pale yellow '79 blazer. He put a nice 350 in it, had rebuilt the tranny and put a 2 1/2 inch lift on it. The paint was really nice, the body was straight...just a good truck. That blazer is what made me want to buy another one after he had sold it cause it could just do anything. He sold it to a guy, who sold it to some little highschool girl. Every now and then we see it. Well, we saw it one day with a big crunch in the door. Looked like she had whipped the door open onto a post or something. Well, just saw it again. Same girl driving it. The front end is all screwed up! I mean just mangled! Grrr! That was a damn nice truck too! It broke my heart to see that such a good truck is being so mis treated ya know? She was prolly fixing her hair or something when that happened. [IMG]

I sold my first car to an idiot...it was a 65 Buick Wildcat. Full load, 2 dr and in nice shape. I told him to go easy on her cuz the motor had quite a few miles on it. He said he planned on restoring it and rebuilding the motor. 2 weeks after he got the car it was up on blocks in his yard with a rod poking through the side of the block...a friend of his told me what he did. I guess he thought holding it in first till 7000 rpm was a good idea when racing someone.[IMG] Last I heard a year or two later was the car was just sitting in the yard rotting.

Yep... I had an 85 Scotsdale, shortbed. Had add a leaves and a 3" body lift with 35" swampers. New Goodwrench motor with some mods, looking at around 280 HP, with a new 700R4. Everything still under warranty. Granted I sold the thing for $6500, but I almost didn't sell it to him, cause I asked if he 4 wheels and he said nah... I just want something to cruise around in.... Man if I didn't need the money sooo bad I would have said... SEE YA!!

I hate that... The guy I sold my Camaro to blew the motor a week after he bought it (I found out 'cause I saw it sitting in a shop parking lot one night and called the shop the next day). I had managed to keep that motor going strong after more than 300,000 miles and several light beatings, too...

The guy I sold my old K5 to has let her go to waste... June pic of my old K5. What you can't see in the photo is how the back of the truck is being held up with a bottle jack...

It's sad when we think they're going to a good home...

had a 71 fastback with a slightly modified 351w, man it was something to see. i sold to a fellow at school who i trusted, but what i didn't know was that his younger brother..14 years old...had a problem with drugs. one night his brother decided to take the car for a joy ride. at 60+- mph he decided to pull into a street sign on the off ramp. GOODBYE!!!
needless to say it is junk now.
ofcourse the doped up a$$hole was just fine.

Yup... been there... done that. Sold the last street rod type car I had (an 87 Firebird w/ about 425 hp ..10.8 to 1 355 w/ AFR heads and a 750 BG carb, modded 700r4, and 3.73 cogs out back w/ posi-beautiful show quality red paint) and found he later wrapped it around a telephone pole. D@mn kid! I would of loved to keep that baby if I didn't need the cash to go back to school [IMG]

Does the PO being an idiot count?
I stopped being suprised at the things I find.
The last head shaker was last weekend during the rear axle swap. I found out that the u-bolts were a little on the short side and he must have stripped a few because he welded the nuts to the u-bolts. [IMG]

My '83 was straight (but rusty) with a $1500 rebuilt 700 in it, and a $500 rebuilt 208. Sold it to a friends brother. First, stiffed me out of the last $100 he owed me, (shoulda repo'ed it) then I find that he rolled it, then put big tires on it (told him that he would blow the tranny if he was hard on it) then last I heard he blew the tranny. Kids always in and out of jail, so I figure hes getting his.

I got Lucky.....I had a 79 K5 that I owned for Years.....I sorta neglected it, and couldn't decide whether to restore it or sell it.....then I ran into this screamin' deal on an 89 K5 that I thought would save me time and money, and have more creature comforts, and have most of the upgrades I was plannin' for the 79......so I let the 79 set for 2 yrs while I went on to different things.....One day, I replied to a post on this site about buying a K5......I figgered "what the hey" I ain't usin' it, and I got this 89 all shiny.....so I sold it......Way Too Cheap......to a Young lady and her hubby......Now I get to see it every so often, and I get updates on the new lift, and 383, and woohoo at the new steering brace....My baby has a new home, and is being treated really good......I believe I sold her to someone who treats her better than I did for those 15 or so years I owned her......I often wish I had her back.....didn't think I would ever miss a vehicle as much as I do that one.....I just sleep well at night knowing she's in such good hands.......Congratulations, Lara........Ya make me proud....

Stuck?...Hell no..I still got some gas left..

I am in the same boat I had an idiot buy my burb.. me. I have owned it for less than 1,000 miles and I have put a tranny in it,and had to rebuild the rear end. The bad part is it only has 58,600 miles on it. It sat for most of its life so it never got a tranny service and the rear end was full of water for a long time because the rear end is really rusted inside :( OHwell now its getting new heads, intake, roller cam, bigger throttle body, etc. Now after all this it better be a good tow vehicle or I will have to strip it and sell it for parts.

Back in high school my dad and I built a CJ5, that had full width full size axles under it w/ 38's. (Back in the 80's before it was kool to put full size stuff under a Jeep) I drove it for a few yrs, and the tranny let go one nite taking my girlfriend home. It sat for prob a yr or better at dads shop before someone bought it. It wasnt for sale but the guy showed up and asked, so dad got rid of it. I met the guy that bought it thru a friend. I told him it was dad and I that built it and it would go anywhere if driven right, and he would enjoy it.

About a yr later I seen the Jeep at the local mudhole and thot it would do good there. The guy hits the hole way too fast and flooded it somehow. I walked over and told him to go slow and head to the middle it would make it. He tries the too fast approach again and fails. Tries it a third time, and this time is stuck so close to the edge I am able to walk up to it, w/out getting my boots wet! I lean in and ask him "nicely" (HEHE!) to try my advice and it will go, or to put it to the road because he was making me feel bad, and making himself look like an a$$, cause most everyone there had seen it go all over the hole before, w/ someone that knew how to drive!!! (Did I mention I had been drinking while watching this idiot?) Well after everyone in ear shot laffed hystericly, he put it on the trailer and it was never seen again! LOL!!!

I was told by friends a few months later that they had seen it 30-45 miles away, going slow in the mudholes and going EVERYWHERE. At least he finally listened. [IMG]

Not a truck, but, I had a 92 Kawi ZX-7. It was in perfect shape and had never been down. The plastic was perfect. Six months after selling it, I called the guy to see if he wanted to sell it back. He told me it had been in 4 wrecks and totaled out 3 times. I still have pics of it. I rode it 25,000 miles in two years(weekends only for fun) and had never crashed it.

Yeah, I know this guy who bought an 82, diesel, Suburban. I had it not even 2 weeks before I hydro-locked it. Opps

A friend of mine had a nice Jimmy that he sold to a high school kid. It was burned to the ground.
