Ok here we go. I have a '79 K5 trail truck and I'm swapping that entire drivetrain into a '86 for a more street legal version that won't be trailered. The first problem we ran into is that the '86 headers have a bolt up issue to the '79 block. The passenger rear most bolt won't line up and not even close? We put new gaskets in and are going to run it like this, since we'll be pulling the "swamp motor" in a few short months anyways. Just wondering if this is common? I thought all 350s were created equal in this department.

The other thing i need is pics of a HD D44 axle shaved to clear 4" backspaced 15's. I've already ground quite a bit and it's not even close to being a go. So some pics would be nice.

    Thanks Guys (and gals)!

Bryan, 90% of the grinding on the D44 is to the backing plate in front of and behind the caliper. Use some fast dry paint or primer between grinding sessions...

Dunno what to say on the header deal... /forums/images/graemlins/1zhelp.gif
