Cutting my rear quarters tonight and going to dump the exhaust out between the frame and gas tank about 6" from rear of blazer do you think that the fumes etc. will come back in ?

Yep.... Mine are dumped out behind the rear tires angled downward and I still get some fumes. Although it's nowhere as bad as it would be going straight out the back.

I have had my exaust come out right below the bumper(actually before the bumper started) and behind the tire and both let fumes into the back window when it was down.

I have two hardtops, one with the wind deflector and one without. I've never had any exhaust come in when I use the top with the deflector but when I had the other top on I could smell it all the time. I've got stock exhaust.
