I thought that this was never made by factory:<a target="_blank" href=http://koti.phnet.fi/usa/images/jatko.jpg>http://koti.phnet.fi/usa/images/jatko.jpg</a>.
There was also article on 4WOR couple of years back featuring custom made ext.cab pre -87 1/2 ton truck, and there were told that GM never made that cab option.
Junk yard that is selling that Chevy, says that its factory made?

I remember that article in 4WOR a few years back. The truck was yellow and not only had an extended cab, but also a late model (95-99) dash modified to fit with fiberglass. Very clean work indeed.

I've seen a couple ext cab '80s trucks in Michigan. I know for a fact the one was custom made, talked to the guy who made it. He and a buddy also made a '87ish 1/2 ton crew cab short box. Both trucks looked really clean.

On the crew cab they took the hard way. They started with a short box 1/2 ton, strecthed the frame, and sectioned in the back 3/4 of a crew cab. They retained the 1/2 ton fire wall and windsheild frame.

We hashed this over on another list, someone had a picture of another one. Apparently at one time, at least one company was taking the trucks and doing this to them. Never a factory option though.

Not factory, but I have seen a few driving around here in AZ.
