    Hello All,

I hadn't realized but my previous post was ambiguous. I understand the ramp thing. (But thanks for the fine answer, Shawn!) What I'm confused about is what the extended shock mounts do to overall flex / suspension. Why do bigger shock mounts make a difference?

Kind of like a spider. You want all your legs(or tires)on the ground. Like when on the rocks and it is very uneven you want all tires on the rocks for the most possible traction. EX. DEPDOG (sick & twisted)

    79Guy,
Extended shock mounts let you use longer shocks so your shocks won't limit the suspension travel. Longer shocks can travel further without bottoming out or limiting suspension droop.

Sorry, thought you were confused about the ramp. Jeff expained it. The longer the shock, the more travel you can get out of your springs (up to a point). To install longer shocks you have to extend your shock mounts otherwise the longer shock will bottom out.
