I am looking for an extra capacity transmission pan with a drain plug that will fit my 1988 Suburban with 700R4. I am concerned about clearance at the front driveshaft and exhaust pipe that crosses under the pan.

This is a 1988, 1/2 ton, 350. Does anybody know of a pan that will fit without any problems ???

Dunno if there's a stock one that holds more fluid. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

I've heard to stay away from the chrome aftermarket ones.... they are a poor stamping and don't seal well. You should be looking for a cast aluminum one instead.

if you could find a cast steel one you could notch it for the shaft and weld in a plate to seal it up. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif or just lift the truck more! /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Try looking at the deep aluminum pans that Summit sells. They are better at cooling and add like 3 or 4 quarts. The pans are pretty thick and fixed the slow seeping problem I had.
