I need new shocks soon. I want to try the F250 shock tower mount mod. Do the shock towers just mount (bolt? or weld?) to the frame. Can I order them new or should I check auto recyclers.

No there not. I went and talked to my local ford dealership, and the parts guy said that just a rumor is all.

sure the ones everyone normally uses may be discontinued, but i can buy ones from a 2003 style super duty all day at 18 bucks each and they fit the same shocks.. and even look to be a sturdier piece..

Only potential problem is if you are running a manual transmission (4 speed). The cluth likage z bar I believe may hit the shock tower but can be made to work fine with a little trimming

I bought some 'E5TZ-18183-A' towers on Monday and asked if they were discontinued, the guy, of course, had no idea but looked in "the system" and found hundreds in local warehouses......if they are discontinued it will be a looong time before the supply runs out in the Phoenix area.

I've got four of them. They ARE discontinued, but still available.

I tried all the local dealerships and they were no help on getting any. I found a dealer in Tenn. that had some and he told me he showed plenty in warehouses in Atlanta and Memphis, as in hundreds! Just ordered a set, they are on the way here now, under 10 bucks a piece. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif
