Did GM equip first gen Blazers with a factory lift block? I heard somewhere that they did but im not sure. A little help please.

  2. I haven't seen factory lift blocks on any of the Blazers that I have seen but some of the 67-72 3/4 ton pickups had blocks. Here is a pic of the block that was stock on my truck. <a target="_blank" href=http://www.j0ker.org/~yukon/69chevy/liftblock.jpg>http://www.j0ker.org/~yukon/69chevy/liftblock.jpg</a>

Alright. I do have what seems to be 2 inch lift blocks in the rear. But I was thinking, maybe the previous owners put those blocks in to compensate for sag. Does anyone have a Blazer that they are 100% sure it has no lift. Do you have any pictures of the rear suspension. I'll try to get some pictures of my rear suspension up soon. I need to know what kinda suspension i have because i need new rear springs due to over flex on one side, it now sits 1.5 inches lower on the passenger side, and i dont want to replace them with the same amount of lift(bigger is better)Thanks

Check out <a target="_blank" href=http://coloradok5.com/forums/showflat.php?Cat=&amp;Board=firstgen&amp;Number=195449&amp;page=&amp;view=&amp;sb=&amp;o=&amp;vc=1>this post</a> and post your measurements.

There were a few guys that had stock Blazers that posted (some did put 2" blocks in the rear to get rid of sag) there measurements.

My blazer is a completely stock 69. There arent any blocks just a little plate with a hole in it to keep the springs from sliding. its only about 1'4 or 3'8 " at the most. I got some 2" lift blocks for christmas strictly to compensate for sag. sorry i dont have any pics though.

  7. The rear block is definitely not from the factory. Since your Blazer sits pretty level I'm guessing the front springs are not stock either. An easy way to know if your front has lifted springs is that the stock springs have a reverse arch whereas the lifted springs will be arched similar to rear springs.

  9. Here's a link to a pick of my truck before I took the stock springs off. The frame is supported by the stands and the axle is unsupported. When the truck was resting on its tires, the springs had a slight negative arch, didn't take a picture of that though.

Here's a link to a photo of the 4" lifted springs installed.
