I was provided with a factory oil cooler adapter for the 1989 V3500, but it won't work due to the routing of the exhaust system. Basically, the adapter I have runs straight up and down with the two cooler lines fittings coming out of the front and the oil filter comes off the bottom(my 84 K5 has the exact same adapter). I dropped by the local dealer to see what my options were, and it seems that the stock setup for the 89 big block was an adapter that positions the oil filter on a 45' angle towards the driver's side, with cooler lines coming off the front of the adapter as well. I *think* that the 45' adapter will allow the filter to clear the exhaust system. Can someone take a pic of their adapter if they have the angled unit? Any clue where I can round one of these up without paying the General big bucks?
