Fan Blade warning from GM \'73-\'79

I got a letter in the mail from GM about the fan blades on '73-'79 trucks possibly coming apart. It says the fan came on 350 engines w/heavy duty cooling systems and NO air conditioning. Part number 336032 stamped on one blade. This is a seven bladed fan. They suggest a 4 blade GM replacement...how handy for them....Part number 461317.
They also suggest "don't rev the engine with the hood open". Just passing it on......GM is still tryin' to take care of us after almost 30 years......Sorry if this is old news....my letter is dated April, 2001.

Yea, I got one last week too. I also thought it was pretty cool they sent stuff out. I guess one too many folks had caught a fan blade in the chest or something.

I sent one into my hood at about 6 grand in my 75. Dented my hood, though I threw a rod the way it was running. Amazing how much out of balance a fan balde can throw you motor.

How did they track you guys down... Through motor vehicles dept for each state or is their a place to register your blazer with them.... Oh another question has there been any other recalls on the 73 blazers:???

I'd guess DMV files. I've only lived here 9 months and it got to me....today.
