When I first got my truck, the frame was cracked around the right engine mount, the fan used to hit the cowl, I welded it up and has been fine for 4 years. Now it is starting to do it again (mostly when turning right and on the gas), but the frame is in great shape still, any comments?? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif /forums/images/graemlins/truck.gif

Torn motor mount insert or broken/loose mounts for fan shround? Maybe a loose or broken body mount under your front clip? Just shooting from the hip here...

If your body mounts are shot it would not only lower the body down toward the fan but could also let it flex more(like when turning) alowing the fan to get inot the cowl. /forums/images/graemlins/thinking.gif

I'm not trying to be an A$$hat, but the COWL is located above the hood and back by the wiper arms... The SHROUD is located around the fan and directs air to be sucked through the radiator.... Therefor, If your fan is hitting the "COWL" You have more serious problems than a cracked frame or mount.... /forums/images/graemlins/deal.gif

yeah I read hte topic and was trying to envision the fan hitting the cowl and all I saw was total carnage where you wouldn't worry about that
