If all of you guys are serious about losing weight, you need to eat 5-6 times a day. I lost about 55 lbs. in less than 6 months. Here's what I ate on a daily basis:
    Breakfast:
    Oatmeal mixed with protein powder
    Mid Morning Snack:
Can of tuna mixed with mustard and pepper
    Lunch:
Grilled chicken breast w/ some steamed veggies
    Afternoon Snack:
Another can of tuna with mustard and pepper
    Dinner:
Baked chicken or salmon w/ some steamed veggies
    Evening snack:
    peanuts
I would also drink at least a gallon of water through out the whole day.

It takes more than just eating, you would also need to workout even if it's means just taking a walk in the evening. I guess I'm rambling on but if you have questions I would be more than glad to answer them.

I'm bad about snacking which is why I decided to go with fruit for a snack cause it fills me up, gives my stomach something to munch on, isn't worth much as far as calories and fat, and I won't eat a big meal three times a day. Then, at night I get on my stair stepper. I've been doing this for about a week and a half and my britches already are a little looser [IMG]

... your daily food plan looks a lot like the `Joe Dillon Energy plan' which isn't a bad thing if you're active. since I am not active much ( 8 hours behind a desk, 2 hours commuting, etc) that would be a `bad thing' for me to do. I agree on the more smaller meals, but not exactly the contents... ( my mother is a dietition, and a little of that rubbed off) but to each thier own: whatever works for me, prolly won't work for you.

the best thing to do is maintain an approximate 2000* calorie diet, excersize about an hour every other day, (+/- depending on how you feel/want to do) keep fat intake down as low as possible, plenty of fruits/vegies, ( as homer said, they're empty vitamins) and you should be allright.

when I was truckless last year ( starting in good ol 110 degree May, ) I ended up riding my bike to and from work ( yes, it was 90 in the morning, even tho I left at 6 AM, to be to work by 630/645) and doing that dropped me from 265 down to 230... of course, august, I bought the C20 suburban, and after 2 failed engine swaps, I was driving it again in January. so, back up to 250 I went. I need to get a new rim on my bike, and do some riding around at the large park down the way from my new place ( live near Freestone park in Gilbert now) and start riding again.

    -Rich

*(2000 is an average. when I was 17-19, growing, and riding 20-40 miles aday, one of my mothers calorie calculation programs said I should be eating 4800 calories per day....)

Actually, since you have a desk job like myself it's easier to eat at a scheduled time. I usually workout at about 4 or 5 in the morning. Then I'm awake for the rest of the day. I tried to work out at night but my mind and body isn't there after sitting at a desk for 8 hours. Just my opinion. Whatever works for you stick with it.

Actually, I've been eating steak too, but it's part of my diet. I'm on the high protein, low carb diet. Yesterday went like this.

Breakfast: Yeah right, like I really wake up early enough to eat breakfast.
Lunch: Grilled steak cooked with tomatos and onion.
Dinner: Leftover steak from lunch, one broiled hamburger patty and a whole bunch of lettuce.
I also drank 4.5 liters of water.

Shouldn't it be called uncommon sense?

I just joined the gym close to my house. Its only 35 a year. It a community deal and is actually a pretty sweet facility, basketball courts indoor track and a weight room. Of course there are no free weights in the weight room but Im not in high school anymore and I dont want to look like Goldberg. Well yeah that would be cool but I have a hard enough time buying clothes now...LOL.

Im not on any "Diet" Im just trying to drink plenty of water and eat smaller portions. Im hoping to get back in my 36-34s comfortably and get rid of the 38-34s.

So next Friday we all "check in" and see if any of us stuck to it? Of course discussion during the week for support or a good laugh. Sound like a plan? If yes, good luck all!

Count me in. Should we weigh in this friday and give progress on the next friday? No actual weight numbers just losses or gains. Hopefully more losses than gains.
