I was wondering who has ever swaped the Passanger Seat and Drivers Seats? (leaving the frames in their original places)
I did this last night and finished this morning. I noticed that the drivers seat was getting realy beat up from jumping in and out over the last 18yrs. They should last for another 18yrs. I feel for the passenger HHHAAAA HHHAAAA

Just curious if any one else has.

My brother did that in the '70, but the old driver's seat was so hammered he never put it back in. Little jerk left it sitting on my trailer, too, come to think of it...

When I need to "update" my drivers seat it requires first that I go to the store for a FRESH roll of duct Tape[IMG]

My brother's seat was more duct tape than OE material. If you can imagine a 32 year old seat, in a lifted truck, driven and wheeled by someone who's 6'5"/280 lbs...When I'd get in it I could hardly see over the hood.

I did the same thing to myne last summer. The seats are identical. The swap was not that bad, just took a little while.

I just put in new Corbeau Baja SS buckets. It rides like a new vehicle now. I can't feel every single nook and cranny in the road anymore and I can drive corners faster because the seat keeps me in and I don't slide all over the place.

I was gonna get some of those Carbeau Baja SS seats a while back....found them for $131 on the www somewhere... now where did I put that link... =(

Then all I'd have to do is find someplace local to do a price match and save me the shipping $$$. ;)

Paul, the swap was very easy. you just have to clean out the other holes(original fome) on the seat's frame. All bolts match up and I took the time to spray paint them. They look TITS... I still have to apply about 4 layers of Duct tape to the New Pass seat.

    I love it! Later guys and again <font color=green>Merry</font color=green><font color=red> Christmas</font color=red>

I'll definitely post some pics with a write-up to let you guys know how it went. I have some small complaints but no big ones. I thought about putting buckets in the rear also, but they would have to be installed very close to the floor, otherwise the passengers' heads would probably hit the top. That and you would lose some cargo space because they would not fold forward like the single seat. I am going to re-upholster the rear seat to match the fronts.

    I'll post pics soon.

Well you could make a swing up mounting assembly for them to mount to. Then you have buckets that are on the floor or lcose enough to the bench height and they fold up. As long as they are up high enuff for the back rest to clear the floor when folded up. but even then you could just get some lower back buckets for the rear!

Still hoping the GOV'T will ban the use of loud stereos with RAP music. [IMG]

Sounds Good. I have a full cage and the rear. I was thinking of makeing a mount to the four corners of the cage. That shape around the wheel wells. (four wheeler mag. did something like it a few issues back in a 70's K5) Anyways Let us know when you get those pics up...Later KEN

So were you able to do the swap without unbolting the frames from the floor?

Yes and No... I took them off and left the frames in. But then realised that I wanted to spray paint them black and clean them up real good. It is possiable to do it with out taking the frames out but hard to aline the holes up and you have to punch through the fabric to find the other holes. It is easyer to take it all at once though. The 6 floor mounting bolts on drivers side and 4 on pass. Compaired to the 8 small ones on the seats. Its easyer then you think...

    Good luck KEN
