Depends on the flares. The bushwacker cutouts were designed for it.

The bushwackers only cut out to the inner fenders so basically only open it that far. The cut out flairs are also pretty spendy and not the strongest thing in the world. Save your cash and just cut your fenders and if you need a flair got those mold yourself flairs from JC Whitney

If yer gonna use the Bushwacker flares, order them before cutting anything. I believe they come with a template co you can cutout the right amount. /forums/images/graemlins/burb.gif /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Go to my Webshots page and go to the Bushwacker install album and you can see some pics of my bushwacker cutout installation and fender trimming.

How did you fill that gap in the fender and wheel well before you mounted the flares?

I wanted to try and cut as far back as possible on the front wells. That is where I was rubbing. I put the flares up and pulled them back as far as I could (they are somewhat flexible). Then we marked it and cut. It goes all the way to the inner fender on the rear of the front fendewell.
