It was a while back but I dont think I ever posted pics. My buddy and I ran up to Courtright resevoir about 100 miles east of Fresno. We caught a few fish, and had a great time. Nothing hardcore just messing around. I did have a fight with a couple of trees, but just scrapes on the fenders. This is the begining to the Dusy Ershim trail.

My first glimpse of the first pic I was thinking "That looks like Courtright".
    Yea!!
    Do I get a prize? :D

Last time I was up there we met an unlifted mid 90's crewcab long bed coming out from that campground. He was loaded down with camp gear. I felt long for the trail in an Xcab shortbox yota until I saw that.

looks like a fun place I'd like to take the wife to see. How would I get there? I live in Rialto ca, about 50 east of LA off of the 210.

Go to Fresno, turn right to Shaver Lake. Turn right again at the NAPA in Shaver. turn right again ~1 mile short of Dinkey Creek Campground. Stop at McKinley Grove (one of very few Sequoia Gigantea stands in the Sierras) for a visit. Take the left at the kinda/sorta fork in the pavement. Drive across the dam, thru the campground to the trailhead. Sh*t bricks when you see the base of Chicken Rock for the first time.

Sweet thanks for the info. Im going to try and do that run next week or sometime soon. Im tired of the local trails that have nothing to look at over here.
