what is the easyest way to find your gear ratio out? THe wayi know is to mark the axle and turn the drive shaft and count the # of turns and calculate the ratio. IS there an easyer way? is it punched any where? /forums/images/graemlins/k5.gif /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif /forums/images/graemlins/k5.gif /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif /forums/images/graemlins/k5.gif /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif /forums/images/graemlins/k5.gif /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif thanks guysa and gals /forums/images/graemlins/pimp1.gif

pull the cover, on your ring gear, if its original GM, will be a series of numbers, 2 of wich can be (for example): 41 11, 41 being the number of ring gear teeth and 11 being the number of pinion gear teeth, 41 divided by 11=3.73... /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

My K5 had a metel tag with the gear ratio stamped on it. It was attached to one on the bolts for the diff. cover. Who knows, you might get lucky and find one on yours too. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif
