Well as many know I just bought a 70 Burb in pretty rough shape for $250. It has 292 Badges and this motor was swapped in.
Well I decided to run the numbers on the engine and heads and was in for a nice surprise! This is the MORTEC listings for what I have.
    Block is 3858180....327...64-67...2
and the real treat is the heads
    3782461....64-66...327......Camel hump,no accessory holes,160/62cc port volumes,62cc chamber
I'm not super good with the 327's but I know double hump heads are good like the ones I have. Anybody have an idea what HP this pig should be and what this motor is worth? What it may have come out of? I got a feeling it's worth more than I paid for the whole truck.

It's not my damn planet monkey boy!

I don't know Grim...alot of the aftermarket stuff is more like 67 and up and mostly all the good buys are for a 350. Just my first thought. Second one was that is allot of steel you have there! Mabie save for a year and drop in a BBC???
Whatever you decide you have a SWEET rig! Any pics out there yet?

hey guy congrats on the steal. hey the engine is prolly a 275 h.p but if the heads are 2.02 it could be a high horse engine outa a vette or chevelle or nova, ya need to look at the engine stamping# on the right bank just in front of the head this # will confirm the block origin. back to the heads if there over 325 h.p they will have screw in studs and quideplates also have the big valves.

If you ever decided to part the motor out, you could probably get close to your entire-vehicle purchase price for those heads at a Chevy swap meet...

It's always darkest just before it goes pitch-black...

If there us one or two letters following the serial number on the engine I should be able to narrow it down for ya. As far as the heads go, not sure if I could be of any assistance.

    Keep it simple!

Camel hump heads get a lot of money since hillbillies like them. Sell them and get some Vortecs or World Products or Trick flows or AFRs or Edelbrocks or anything but GM heads that aren't Fast Burns or Vortecs.

Well I got a bud that's a real 327 nut. He's running the numbers for me to figure out what it came out of. I don't think it was high HP engine since it had what looks to be the original 2 barrel and intake with it. Guy also gave me a 4 barrel intake and a mechanical secondarie Rochester to go on it. Still need to clean it up and see if it runs. Going to have to run it off a gas can though. Gas tank looks rough.
Missing a few little parts but my 327 gear head buddy can probably help me with them. He's running a 327 Towwanda in his 67 Impalla the Dyno's 410hp. Stout little motor.

Looks like a freaking service shop for old trucks. We have the 70 Burb, 75 Jimmy, 79 Blazer on the drive Well the 75 is becide the drive in the grass since the Burb just got the up to the garage parking space.
When the garage is open there is a 70 Pontiac burried under R/C planes and junk and my Supra.
When I'm working it even sounds like a repair shop with air tools going. I like doing the late night Welding in the drive thing too [IMG]
I need to build a ramp so I can get into the back yard. Park the 75 and my utility trailer back there out of site. Once the Burb gets drivable park it back there also and clear out the front yard.

We've reorganized and have sold an bought some, but we had out front at one time, a '86 GMC p/u, '91 S-10, '79 Blazer and in the back we had a gutted '56. Then, we had an '87 IROC, '77 Benz, '79 Blazer and the '56 still out in back and gutted. The stereo got stolen out of the camaro so now it's '77 Benz, '79 Blazer, '87 IROC and the '01 Honda motorcycle is in the garage (very tight...only a one and a 1/2 car garage) 'and the '56 is behind where Nick works. I don't have a drive way, so by out front I mean out on the street in front of the house ( a little house too).

Ahh my bud has you beat. BigJBear can confirm it.
He does have some land and most is not noticable from the street He even has a 30x50 steel shop.
He has 5 (yes five) 78-79 bronco's. Two run. One doesn't even have axles under it. He has enough parts among the 3 that don't run to make one drivable.
82 Bronco that his son drives.
94 F350 crew cab. This dragged my Sub home.
39ft 5th wheel camper that has a garage on it...serious it has a drop gate in the back so you can load stuff like wave runners and ATV's in it.
    pontoon boat.
    Ford windstar company vehicle.
2 car trailer trailer that he's storing for somebody else till they sell it
1 car trailer that hauled both my Supra (behind my 75) and my Sub home (Behind his F350 because I didn't have the trailer brake connection)
and a GMC Safari that is his wife (at least she has some sence about not driving fords) drives.
The shop has 4 ATV's in it and is pretty well set up. He helped me build my roll cage.
1 Kobota 4wd Tractor with lots of accessories.

  20. Its probably around 300 hp,the 300hp 327 had a rodchester 4v and a hydralic cam.These heads also come on the 350hp 327 with a holley dp and a soilid cam.The 300 hp was the standard motor in the 63-64 vett's.My 63 Impala ss has the 300hp 327 in it.They're strong motors.
