Well, I finally got my pics developed and scanned. I've included a couple of shots of the tailgate without the tin banner and the sticker that Jeff427 did up for me. The insert looks white in the photos but is actually a light metallic silver.

Anyhow, just thought I'd let you guys take a look..........

    Nice truck! How's she run?

Cool rock formation. Already snow? or always snow?

Well, for a 305 with 212,000 kms, it runs pretty good, other than the ever growing "puff-o-blue" at start up. It's funny how a new paint job can get you under the hood trying to make her run as good as she looks!!!!!

The mountain in the background is just one of the awesome views that I get to see every day. Canmore is literally surrounded on four sides by walls of mountains. Unfortunately, winter tends to come early because of this. So far this year, though, most of the snow has stayed in the high country.......So far!!!!!

Mine has a 350 with 180,000 and just started to puff. Still runs really well. Needs a tranny ... then I guess I'll save for the motor.

    How's the rust before paint?

CanmoreK5, I'm glad to have been able to help you with the reflective black CHEVROLET for the tailgate. That is one sharp looking Blazer. I have a suggestion for you CanmoreK5, wait till its almost dark, and take a picture of the tailgate using a flash on your camera. It will show what the reflective black looks like when the lights hit it.
I wish my Blazer looked that good.

It got to the point where we either had to fix the truck up properly or let her rust away. Anybody who has a Blazer knows what I mean- there's a point where you either salvage the body or you don't.

Basically, the prices of a newer replacement truck made our minds up. For the cost of mid-90's extended cab 4x4 or Yukon, I could rebuild my Blazer from the ground up twice!!!!! Plus, I've owned the truck for 8 years, and she's as much a part of the family as the rest of us.

And it's only money.........She'd get it out of me sooner or later, so I may as well get her lookin' good. EH?

There's actually a funny story behind the name "Ha Ling Peak". In the late 1800s, a Chinese fellow named Ha Ling won a bet by climbing to the top and returning to camp in 8 hours. It was decided that the mountain would be named in his honor, but over the next couple years the locals "changed" it to "Chinaman's Peak". It stayed that way for almost a hundred years, until a local lawyer of Chinese descent claimed it to be racist, and petitioned the government to reinstate the original name officially. So now it's called Ha Ling Peak.

Now I don't really care either way, and can see how the name might be insulting if you're Asian, but the funny thing is, the pass below that very mountain is called "Whiteman's Pass"!!!!! HMMMMMMMMMMM...............???
