Finally got my 1st gen painted(PIC\'S)

I know not all of you visit the 1st gen forum so I'm posting this here too.

Got the Blazer out of the paintbooth today.
I still need to reassemble the truck and the paint needs to be wet sanded and buffed out but it feels good to finally get it painted.
I painted it the orig. factory yellow. It's pretty damn BRIGHT!!! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Nice looking rig...I just did the same, and still putting things back on it...I'm painting all the chrome black. Putting thing back on takes a h*ll of alot longer then taking them off...

Man, the truck looks nice. I respect your inititive and effort, but the color...I find it personally offensive.

    Thank you gents.
Bubba Ray,Yes I'm planning on being at Blazer-Fest 4 with the truck.

tecton, the actual color is a light yellow.Just took the code off the option sticker in the glove box.

I was "offended" by the color when I first bought the truck.I went to look at it at night time. When I bought it that night I thought I had bought a white truck.Surprise surprise when I picked it up the next day and saw it was yellow.
I have grown to love my ugly yellow colored truck.

    Hey DwarF,sorry you're offensive /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

TONYP,I did see your post on your windshield woes.I've done a couple windshields that use the same type of rubber gasket and feel confident I'll get it in,but now that I've said that it'll prob. crack. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I will be replaceing all the gaskets. The doors, window channels, window scrapers and all the rubber on the fiberglass top.

I've sanded down the top to the gel coat and will be applying a product that replicates the origanal finish of the top.You just roll it on with a roller.I'm still sanding it down though.
    Here's a couple of pic's of that.

Nice! /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif I just finished the 88K5 last weekend. I know how hard it is to put it all back together. Just takes some time.

Bob, my top is on the side of the house as I'm putting a soft top on, not sure what I'm going to do with it. I've got all new rubber too, even for the wingwindows. Hey if you need any door parts I just replaced my old doors with nicer one, so I have all the internal parts and wing-windows..

Thanks Tony but I'm good to go on all those parts.Although my passenger window regulator likes to raise on it's own.I'll crank the window all the way down and after a little while the window will rise about 3" on it's own.
If you have a good one I might take that from you.
    Let me know.

First Gen Blazers are so cool. Very rare in Michigan. I love the round wheel openings and full top. I just hope that someday I'll be able to enjoy restoring one myself. Looks good. Congratulations. I remember the excitement of fresh paint!
