FINALLY got the Blazer painted.(PIC\'S)*UPDATED,NEW PIC\'S*

Got the Blazer out of the paintbooth today.
I still need to reassemble the truck and the paint needs to be wet sanded and buffed out but it feels good to finally get it painted.
I painted it the orig. factory yellow. It's pretty damn BRIGHT!!! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Wow, Bob. Looks Great. Give us a play-by-play! Did you shoot the shoot the firewall and jams and then hang the doors, hood and fenders for the final finish? It looks like you were able to drive it in and out!

Doors, fenders and hood were on,cowl was off.Windshield was out.
Raised the hood enough to get the inside of the fenders but didn't get the firewall.I'll have to clean it up and use a spray can to paint it.
Opened the doors and got the jams, bottom and jam side of the doors and the sill of the rockers.
I reassembled the truck then drove it to the paint booth.Kinda windy with no windshield /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
I put my windshield in today and unlike TONYP I had much better luck.
It took about 2hrs but I got it in without too much trouble.

Here's the top.sanding it down and recovering with this stuff.I saw a sample of it before I bought it and the finish was VERY similar to the factory finsh.

Brad, mainly street.I don't have 12" of lift,42" boggers and rear steer to keep the truck away from trees and rocks unlike you /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
I havn't had a chance to get pic's of the newly covered top.I will post as soon as I do though.

Re: FINALLY got the Blazer painted.(PIC\'S)*UPDATED,NEW PIC\'S*

I finally took pic's of the top with the Gator Gaurd on it.
We used 2 cans of the stuff and it still didn't cover it.It's a little thin in some area's.We used a 'Shutz gun" to spray it on.
I think I'll be painting it with some glossy marine paint next. The finish at present is flat.

Here's closeup. It's close but not what I expected in regaurds to reproducing the orig. finish

The rebuild is almost complete. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
