    Well... when i took it in the shop it had a new (LMC) drivers side rear quater panel thta was primed, a very rough rough from the previous factory luggage rack and nicks/scratches and whatever else form 15+ years of abuse. I looked at the best body shop ($3000-$4000) the local cheap-o ($199-299) and decided on a good local shop that was inbetween at about $850. I simply instructed exaclty what I wanted and they said they could do it all per my insrtuctions. The 7 coats is standard, the guy said he always orders more paint than necessary and keeps adding more coats untill all the paint is used up. Also, for those curious, the color is '01 GM metallic blue from the chevy venture (yuk) minivan or malibu. Cannt really like the color on one of those cars, but it sure looks good on a blazer.

    Do you know what kind of paint was used? Specifically was it a color/clear (2-stage) or a urethane (single)?
