finding my 10 bolts gear ratio

    alright, ive done a search, and didnt come up with anything. i have a 1990 k5, with stock 10 bolts front and rear. is there any way for me to find out the gear ratio WITHOUT takin of the diff cover? i really need to know, so any help is greatly appreciated. thanks in advance.

    Is the options sticker in the clove box gone? You can put it in neutral and turn the driveshaft while counting the tire and drive shaft turns to get an idea. Why not just remove the cover? It is a 5 minute job and you will know forsure, the gearlube probably needs changed anyhow.

    In a 90 it will be 3.43s or 3.73s, I don't think there were any other options.

    Look in the glove box and locate the RPO code sticker. Look at the sticker and it will have one of these codes, just match it up for the ratio:

    GT5 = 4.10
    GT4 = 3.73
    GU6 = 3.42
    GU4 = 3.08

    No this all depends if it has the stock diffs and if the previous owner didnt change the gears.

    thanks alot. checked the code and i have 3.43's. not what i was hopin for, but not the worst either.
