Just downloaded it due to having internet problems. Don't think I've got the problems fixed, but I like it better than IE already!

Any Tips, tricks, or addons I might like?

    Firefox is awesome.

What type of internet connection do you have?

If on DSL/cable, I have some commands written down at home that will speed it up.

I found em on here and saved em, but for the life of me I cant find em now.

Type in the address bar what you are looking for. For example, type "14 bolt bible" or "chevy" or "super swamper". Don't use www. or .com, just type the words as a search.

One of the best add-ons for me that I have added has been the weather bar. It's complete with 6 day forecast and active radar. The only drawback to the active radar is most of the time, it only runs up to an hour behind the current time. It's not that bad because it gives me an idea of what we might get.

some stuff thats the same as ie is if you hold shift and scroll w/ your mouse it'll move forwards or backwards through the webpages and if you scroll while holding Ctrl it'll change font size.

One of the best things I ever installed was a popup blocker and an ad blocker. It not only stopped ALL pop ups it also takes out ads from webpages so it's all super clean. Just look under tools at the extensions as said above.

I found this on CK5 a while back and just saved it. I've done this and it works great.

    Speed up Firefox
If your running a cable modem, this upgrade will work pretty well. It just bombards your ISP for more bandwidth automatically.

1.Type "about:config" into the address bar and hit return. Scroll down and look for the following entries:

Normally the browser will make one request to a web page at a time. When you enable pipelining it will make several at once, which really speeds up page loading.

    2. Alter the entries as follows:

    Set "network.http.pipelining" to "true"

    Set "network.http.proxy.pipelining" to "true"

Set "network.http.pipelining.maxrequests" to some number like 30. This means it will make 30 requests at once.

    3. Lastly right-click anywhere and select New-> Integer. Name it "nglayout.initialpaint.delay" and set its value to "0". This value is the amount of time the browser waits before it acts on information it recieves.

If you're using a broadband connection you'll load pages MUCH faster now!

Dude, that is the coolest thing so far. I did what your previous post said and it made a huge difference in how quickly pages loaded!

I'm kind of fond of this one, I don't use it all the time but it comes in handy sometimes. It allows you to select text online (such as directions) and send them to your phone. Once it's installed close firefox and open it back up. When you do there will be a small cell phone in the upper right hand corner. Just select some text and click the phone. It'll walk you through the rest.

Thats pretty cool. I had downloaded the fasterfox extension so most of these were already done, but a couple weren't and those still made an improvement. Thank you kindly sir

Got any ideas why win media player doesn't work within FF? Some of the movies linked around here work and some don't. youtube's seem to always work, but some other sites do not.
