Why would anyone fish for ice? I just get mine at the convenience store. $1 gets me an 8 lbs bag.

That would be cool. We could be drunken idiots and give Paul wedgies and put makeup on him and handcuff him to the porch while We drink his good stuff and kick it with the family:D Then We would have to make it saftly back to the border.

    its only fun if....

If you have one of those "shanty's" and a wood stove, lots of wood and booze, ice fishing is a blast --without it--its like sitting on an iceberg in a 40 mph breeze!..no thanks..

We used to race cars on the ice in a few places in MA and NH..one place was a Rod and Gun clubs private lake..but they don't have them there anymore..now we have to go to NH if we want to race..its a blast, once the ice gets a foot thick, even semi's can go on it!:eek1: ..we used a few FWD cars like a Citation, and a Ford Escort GT..they do pretty well on the ice..not too many rules, just stock cars with chains on the drive wheels, and motorcycle chain on the non driving wheels to aid steering control..

My brother used to get the Citation up to 68 mph in second gear..we rarely used third or fourth!..the V8 class is even more fun..nothing like going 75+mph sideways for a whole 1/4 mile, with the motor taching 5 grand!!:D ...

Funny thing was, that guys would be ice fishing just another 1/4 mile away on the lake, and they would catch just as many fish whether we were having a race or not.. ..kinda weird huh?..

Okay, I got a question for you ice fishermen. Who wimps out and uses a gas powered auger to cut their holes, and then who's the real men and use a hand-cranked auger?

I'm afraid I'd have to take the wimp's mode out on that, with gas powered one. I'm pretty spindly in the arms.

    never saw one..

I've only seem the "manual" augers in museums!..never saw anyone actually USE one before!...I have seen many gas powered ones though..but most of the ice fishermen I've seen use their chain saws, and cut square holes in the ice!-and hit it with a hammer to break it loose..
