    The salary thread got me thinking - what was your first job and what did it pay.

    I worked at my families business cleaning up for almost nothing.

    Popeye's Fried Chicken. Don't remember what it paid, min. wage in 1987 whatever that was.

    My first job was for stanley tools back in the summer of 92. I was making $4.25 an hour. I was filling order's and loading trucks.

    I had a killer bank account because I worked so much, when I got home I went to bed. No time to spend money.

    Working in my dads A/C shop...probaly 1 or 2 an hour till I turned 16 then $5.00 an hour doing whatever I was told to do.

    In 2002 started construction at 8.00/hr. Made 8.25 last summer, maybe Ill get another raise this summer. 50-60hr weeks make for sweet paychecks.

    shipping warehouse for fed ex ground, a year loading those semi truck trailers you see on the freeway.. 9.00 an hour, they screwed up and paid me like a dollar more than starting price was.. lol i never told :) and after the 3 month probation period, it went up another .50 or a dollar, i forget

    fab shop building stuff like this...clicky at a whopping $6/hr summers. four years later i was up to $9/hr. funny thing was, i was making more than half the employees did an hour. excellent learning experience however.

    1973-driving an old Louisville Ford Dumptruck, cleaning up in a housing development, hauling and laying sod. $5 an hour, and I was earning every penny of it.
