Here are some before, during and after pics. Hope these help. I would not paint flat black again. It looks mean but is a nightmare to keep (dare I say it) clean. But it protects better than just being primed and flat paint hides blemishes really good.

Since primer can absorb moisture and greasy finger prints stay somewhat permanantly I would go flat black.

i think its dupont that is offering what they call "hot rod black" its basically a flat black and it not supossed to fade and it seals the metal. i had a friend just paint his truck with it, its a 2wd c-10 swb. it looks good and its flat no sheen!! the truck actually looks like it is coated in black velour from 2-3 feet away. i want the same look but in od green, its smooth and no orange peel, but it still looks like velour, like when you touch it , it should be fluffy and soft.....its different!

The giant hood scoop a blemish? Nah! :haha: It's my "hillbilly ram air" -obnoxiously functional. It is made in two sections: the top half with the mouth and the base. I've been debating on turning it into a cowl induction scoop.... might look more tasteful. But sometimes I pretend I"m driving a little grave digger  (even though he never had a giant hood scoop).

    Painting, 10 minutes.

    Sorry for the hijack...

Mtn burb, where did you get that cool winch bumper?

Here's a pic, taken right after I bought the Blazer, from my camera phone 2 years ago...

Anyways, the Blazer is painted a camo sand color all around. You can see the truck in the "Dec. 23rd Martinez trip" thread. It's the one that got stuck in the rut with the yellow truck pulling me out. :o
