flex plate

    when referring to an auto transmission, is the flex plate just the tranny side of the flywheel or is it something bolted to the flywheel; if none of the above, what is it?

    flexplate is for automatic and a flywheel is for a manual AFAK /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif

    the flex plate is bolted to the crank and the torque converter.
