i have a pair of 3 chamber flowmasters. they are hooked up to a pair of hedman headers.
they sound deep and mellow below 3000rpm (very cool), above 3krpm, they are a blast. you can really hear them.
after i installed them i felt the extra power.
i am very happy with them.

If you're going to keep the cat, and single exhaust (to remain legal), use a 2 chamber Flowmaster. It will never be too loud with the cat on there.

BLAZER1970 is right, you could run a strait pipe out from the cat & it wouldn't be to loud. Go with the 2 chambers, or better yet, I believe they make race mufflers that are 1 chamber or less. In additon consider getting a high flow cat. JBA makes SMOG legal headers that are a direct replacement for your factory manifolds. There is a link to JBA on my web site in the K5 Specs section. With the headers, High flow cat & flowmaster you could expect a resonable 25-35 hp gain!
