    ?? for the computer guru\'s

The box is a Dell Inspiron laptop running WinXP Home. I just changed over from my old firewall software to ZoneAlarm (the latest & greatest freebie - NOT ZA Pro). It asked me if I wanted to allow a program called " DAMon.exe " to access the Net. When I clicked the More Info button, ZoneLabs basically said "We don't know what it is, you're on your own freebie-guy!". I denied it permission and it hasn't asked again, but now I'm curious. Anyone know what this is?
Also, why does " msmsgs.exe " try to access the Net every 2-3 minutes? I keep denying it, and it comes right back again, 2-3 min later. Anyone??

    Here's some explainations:

    DAMon.exe

    msmsgs.exe

That will explain why msmsgs is trying to hit the internet. It's your MSN messenger client.

Now, the other one is there because you have a dell, and it is probabably hitting the internet to find updates.

I don't use M$N or M$ Messenger for anything (that I'm aware of...)

Thanks for the info on DAMon, next time it comes up I'll allow it.

MSN is installed with Internt Explorer. It is a PITA, and it can be removed through the add/remove programs in your control panel.
