For those wondering about 38\'s and 1/2 ton running gear.

Well I went to Gardendale AL. Sat and it was the first wheeling trip with the 38 SX's. The lift is now 7" front and 9" in rear. It was all going good until the rock garden. I scraped my way down there. Trail was made for heeps!!! And then commensed to thrash it. Well first off I had a heep guy spot me. The two heeps before me broke or winched out. That guy was trying me over the hardest line too. Well I couldn't get that line because the rocks were slick. I then tried my own line and went up with out a hitch. Until the end. My brother is standing next to my window and said "GAS ON IT" and for the crowds delight I did and the right front u-joint,WARN axle, and WARN premium hub went BOOOM. I limped it about 20 ft and unlocked it. BUT I made it!! The next group behind me was strickly trailered cab trucks and Hybrids and they had the same trouble as me. They even took my line. It was'nt that bad. Warn said they would replace the axle and hubs :)

If pro-built trailer queens had trouble with the path you set, you win in my book. Regardless of what you were running.

Its easy to say all this but I do have it on VIDEO!! I have been thinking about adding all my stuff together from Missouri, Telico trips, club rides, mud bogs, and making one good video. If others could do this we could trade out and see some awsome footage of alot of different rigs!!!!

I could hear that Georgian accent now "Gaas Own It". [IMG] You were definately on the gas several times at the K5 run and the drivetrain held up well. Sounds really cool you can wheel the same style with bigger tires. Im getting ready for the Disney run, thats where we will test some 1/2 ton stuff. But, it sounds like your rig is the right setup. I may buy some warn shafts soon. I have superior in the rear now with a Moser for spare. Have a good one dude, cant wait to wheel with you again sometime.

I watched Keith's video the other day. This looks like a cool place to wheel. The most impressive thing to me was the custom buggies & hybreds didn't seem to be doing much better (with one exception, that FJ40 was bad) than Keith in his realitively straight, full bodied Blazer. Although it obivously isn't stock, its not outragously modified, either. Remember KISS, it realy works.

I talked with the guy in the FJ40 for a few. He has 3 years of time invested in it. It is AWESOME. Flexed and wheeled like nobodys business.

Next time HELL HILL Keith!

I can't keep a secret!!! I ordered the Holley Commander 950 fuel injection. This will put me up with the others as far as angles goes. There were a few with propane there also. I think that hell hill was not that bad because the ones that made it where both fuel inj. and the big chevy and toy were carbed!! By the way these pictures are on my page.

Re: For those wondering about 38\'s and 1/2 ton running gear.

about time you tested those 38's and gave us a report!!!! are you still running a lockrite in the front?? and if so, did it survive? i have ole "yeild2me" (complete with personalized yeild2me license plates) damn near ready to rock. the cage is in, and i did what grim said, and welded it to my windshield frame where i cut the top off. the 38s are on, and the rear quarters are trimmed, but i havent trimmed the front. thats kinda going to be a beeeaaatttch, because i cut the rockers out and installed 2X4 tubing to strengthen the body (ala grim and depdog). i also have the same 2X4 tubing for my front and rear bumpers, but they are still on the garage floor waiting to be fabbed up. i leave next weekend to go to new york for 30 days, but i should be back around the 4th of sept. the extra 1400 bucks i will make in TDY may be the financing for a new winch!!!!! DAMN, YOU GUYS ARE A BAD INFLUENCE!!!!!!

anyways, i cant wait to wheel with you guys again. we def. need to get something together soon!!!!

checkout the site and i must say i am impressed
if the pictures on page 2 are what you were running against and you made it that tells me that there is a lot more to the driver than just a good rig.
congrats
did not mean for that to sound like yours what not a good rig, just not a trailer queen, and you are running with them

It needs a bigger motor.
what's in it now?
doen't matter it NEEDS A BIGGER MOTOR

I've been waiting for years for my buddy to do that, too much gas, 10blt's and 38's. Just hope I get to see it when he does.

Displacement, cubes, and did you say you drive a riceburner???
