Picking up mine tomorrow for $85. Anybody run these things on a K5 with a 454 or other built engine? I'm hoping for the best.

Where did you get yours? I want to do the same thing. I am trying to regain some lost horsepower from moving here. Damn elevation. /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif

Im running a single fan from a V8 Tbird. I run it on low speed and have only gotten to 220 once ever. Mostly stays around 160-180.

The one time it hit 220 I was HARD at it for about 5 min straight. Mostly above 6000 RPM and hit 7500 for a few sustained times. I was raw doggin the piss out of it and it started warming up. The shift lite was lit up and screaming for mercy that day. /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif

I would think a double fan youd definately do the job.

I got onto www.car-part.com and looked one up. Turns out that the best price in Idaho was in town!

So how do you like the west? /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Well I thank ORD for that. It's easy to break those parts with GEARING. /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif I took the truck for a ride last night through downtown and was a little shocked how slow it was (I think I would lose a stoplight-to-stoplight race to a Chevette /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif). I blame it on elevation. It COULD have something to do with 7 year old ignition parts.

[/ QUOTE ]I forgot to mention the eng in the Blazer is about 400hp 350 cooled by a 2 core radiator! /forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif

I had a 3 core for it but it got a hole in it when I installed it. My helper let the rad. go before I had the upper mounts on and it fell against the motor putting a pin hole in it. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

The 2 core has done a sufficient job of keeping it cool so far even thru central Florida summers so I havent worried about getting the 3 core fixed.

I am running them on my 71 EL Camino and my friend in Texas is running them on his built 454. I have another set ready to go on the Blazer.

I use a thermal switch in the block and also have it wired up to the air conditioning switch. Have both fans wired to come on at the same time (max cooling at once)

This setup comes with a large fan shroud. Real easy to mount and setup. /forums/images/graemlins/deal.gif /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

    These are the Winstar fans.
They're just about the exact size as the large GM radiators.
Some minor trimming is probably required.

Heres a link to my friends setup on his Big Block Chevelle

I hacked off the connector and took each hot wire into its own 50A relay. Theres one hot for each fan and the return.
The relays are tied together so they both engage when switched on.
