No, it's still a good old fashioned pushrod engine.

If you want a DOHC GM V-8 get a northstar. Those things are pretty bulletproof when you put timeserts in em. Ive heard of the stock bottom ends taking around 10 PSI of boost. Plus they haul ass too, and I've taken a few apart and done head gaskets at 140k miles and put em back together without a problem.

I keep hearing from a lot of people that it is a DOHC engine. They think it is because of the covers over the valve covers. There was a good write up on the new Vett/LS2 in last months Hot Rod. Now if they could just come up with a pony car to drop into and I aint talking some Caddy or Aussie import either.

those Holdan's are nothing to sneeze at. Their SSX concept car is a sedan with an LS1 and AWD. I'd love to get my hands on that.

Yeah but they are built in Austraila and would cost like hell to bring State side. Not to mention any car built down under can be built here and the money would stay here.

They were mistaken. Car and Driver isn't exactly the epitomy of vehicular knowledge.

I think it was whoever put the show together. They never "said" DOHC but it was displayed under the engine when they were talking about it. Guessing someone crossed specs when typing that up.
