OK I have found a COMPLETE Hydro set up. From the booster to the pump w/ remote reservour, and lines. From a 1/2 ton diesel. Still a sealed system.

The problem I have is its off a burner. The fire seemed to stay in the cab, and the front was sold so it shouldnt have been hot enuff to hurt anything vital, seeing how the sheet metal was salvageable. BUT the pedal assembly is buried under melted wires, and dash! Cant get to it. The master cyl. was gone, so I grabbed the master push rod, it was a bit crusty (but not bad) from being exposed but moved around freely. I was told I NEED the pedal push rod, which will be a challenge to get to (if not impossible) unless they have another to take it off of. But do I NEED the pedal assembly? I have an 86, and the donor was an 80s truck. I hope they have another truck to get the push rod off of.

They will pull it out of the donor for me, and sell it for $60.00. I am assuming that this is a good price. Sounds like a good deal to me.

This place is pretty good. The original owner is there everyday,(and been there since the dawning of time I think) no computers, 1 phone line. Just your basic small wrecking yard.

I did check and he has no D 60 fronts. [IMG] Too bad coulda been a sweet score prob.

Anyway, what more is there to know before I hand over the money?? I did a search a few days ago, and found the post that I think was by Boss, that was pretty complete.

You may not need the pedal assy. I did on mine, but mine is a '73. Your later-model may not. IIRC, Wayne is on target. I think it was the General who posted that he didn't need the pedal.

So, I'd try it without the pedal. If it lines up, don't worry about it. With mine, I tried without the pedal swap first, but couldn't get the pushrod to attach to the brake pedal. With the new pedal assy, it lined right up. You'll be able to tell if you need a different one.

    Good luck,

Thanx Guys! I just took the most direct route...I called a freind, that is a GM parts guy. He punched it up and they do come up w/ different part numbers, so there must be some kind of a difference. I will just get the guy to get me a pedal assembly out of another truck. I can tell he did not want to send a guy under the dash to get it, so I will prob. end up paying some more now. Cant be too much more tho. Does the $60 sound like a good price for what I am getting??? Like I said it'll prob be a few more now that I am getting the pedal assy. tho.

I paid $47 for my pedal assy, so $60 doesn't sound too bad. Mine was an obsolete part number that I found in stock at a Cadillac dealer. I think they were happy to get it off their shelf, so may have given me a better price than normal.[IMG]

What other vehicles had that pedal assy?? Were all the Hydros the same pedals? That may make life easier to get one If he doesnt have another. Worst case is Ill give him the 60 for all the big stuff and hunt out a pedal assy later. In fact I know where a deisel Burban is that the booster was already taken, I am pretty sure the pedals are still there.
