Found out what's wrong with my '85 K30 today!!!

    Found out what\'s wrong with my \'85 K30 today!!!

    Got into tearing the intake off to inspect the lifters and found 1 bent push rod and two worn lifters. /forums/images/icons/shocked.gif This explains why the truck ran like it had a bad miss.

    Now its off to the parts store to round up everything and get them back together. Hoping the truck runs like new when its all done. /forums/images/icons/wink.gif

    Worn lifters typically are mated with equally worn cam lobes. /forums/images/icons/mad.gif How did the repairs go? Is it running better? I'm guessing that there's a cam swap in your future. /forums/images/icons/frown.gif

    Went and got everything rounded up today. Had to order the push rods and upper radiator hose.

    I'm also sending the radiator out to get flushed and checked over, just to be safe.

    The cam lobes looked ok from where I could see. Gonna take my chances and go ahead and install the lifters, push rods and button everything back up and pray it runs better than it did before.

    All that and hoping NOT to do a cam swap...yet. /forums/images/icons/tongue.gif
